The Canadian Men’s and Women’s Senior Curling Championships are being held this year at the Ottawa Hunt Club from March 20-28.
Each game needs on-ice observer who, with warm clothing provided by the C.C.A., will sit behind each sheet and, on a plastic sheet with coloured discs representing rocks, show the position of each rock in the house as the end is played. When the end is over, the observer will go to the other end of the sheet, put up the score and repeat the process until the game ends.
No judgments or decisions are made by this observer.
It would be greatly appreciated if each volunteer would agree to observe as many as 6 games during the week just to keep the numbers manageable but, if you can’t do 6, sign up for as many as you can.
Each volunteer is asked to pay $35 and for this you receive a sweater, a pass for all the draws, parking, and an invitation to the volunteer-appreciation party.
A draw- sheet with a space for your signature is posted above the fireplace at the south end of the viewers lounge. You can get sheet from Dalal. Fill it out, including Cheque, and return it to her.
I am frankly a bit concerned about getting as many volunteers as I need, so, if you will help, I promise, should you beat me, to lose with less bad grace than usual.
