Currier Cup: Buckingham vs. Ottawa
January 26 , 2008
at the Buckingham Curling Club
This
is a fun competition between the two oldest clubs in the region, the Buckingham
Curling club in Quebec, and the Ottawa Curling Club. It was initiated in 1866
and last played for in 1992 (won by Buckingham). Play was re-instituted in
1999
on March 28 (participants are pictured to the left). Four teams from the Ottawa
went to Buckingham and the Ottawa came out on top by a cumulative 10 point
margin. The following year members of the Buckingham club ventured to Ottawa
and once again Ottawa proved victorious. But that would be the end of Ottawa's
reign as champions as Buckingham prevailed for the following 3 years.
Buckingham will host this year's match.
