Sizzling Winter Warm-UpFebruary 20-21, 2004
FEELING HOT, HOT, HOT...
Things heated up at the OCC during the Sizzling Winter Warm-up spiel. There was salsa dance instruction to hot Latin beats, lots of “Sex on a Beach”, a trivia contest (how long was the worlds longest burrito??), a name that tune competition, limbo dancing and, oh yeah, some curling thrown in just for fun. For anyone who didn’t take part, you missed a great time. Actually, it was worth the entry fee alone just to see Fred Barbieri in a grass skirt! The kitchen produced a wonderful faijita buffet Saturday night (thanks Bill and Matthew in the kitchen), followed by the awarding of prizes and draw for the TV (congrats to Heather Long!) And then a good selection of tunes from the DJ kept the dance floor hopping until after midnight.
Big kudos go out to organizers Katerine and Fred Barbieri, and their committee of Shelley Creaser, Wendy Rathwell, Ken MacDonald, Ruth Buckland and Dave Johannsen, for all the time, effort and imagination put into this event. And a big hug and kiss to Jan Ellis for volunteering, on very short notice, to cover the bar Saturday night, so our overworked Manager could take part in the fun. Good show everyone - lets do it again next year!
