About the Ottawa Curling Club

FrontdoorTHE OTTAWA CURLING CLUB (OCC) has been an important fixture on the local curling scene for many years. Founded in 1851, the Club was originally located near the present site of the Supreme Court of Canada, but moved in 1916 to its current location on O'Connor at Catherine, across from the YM/YWCA.

Its downtown location, with ready access to and from the Queensway, is one reason why the OCC draws members from all over the Ottawa-Hull region. But that's only part of the story. The Ottawa is virtually unique in being a full-service curling club that offers:

  • Top-calibre curling facilities, with a 2-level viewing area, 5 sheets of professionally-maintained ice, an up-to-date ice plant, and heaters in the ice area.
  • Curling for everyone from beginner to seasoned expert, with leagues from Monday through Sunday (men, women, open, mixed, little rocks, juniors) and a range of membership categories and fees to match. You may apply for membership online.
  • Kick-off to each season that includes an free instruction clinics with accredited instructors (and no obligation to join).
  • Large, newly-upgraded lounge, including large-screen TV, PA/sound system, and roof-top ventilation and air-conditioning units for year-round fresh air.
  • Staffed bar offering a wide selection, including 6 draft-beer towers.
  • Staffed kitchen offering lunch and dinner most days (à la carte plus daily specials).
  • Full-time professional manager.
  • Active social calendar, including bonspiels (e.g., the Gordie Perry), banquets, and special events such as a children's Christmas party.
  • Club professional (and ice-maker).
  • Curling supplies.
  • Ample nearby parking (see maps & parking).

And, of course, the OCC is the home of many Championship teams! Check out our Hall of Fame.
