2001 Member Survey Results

Overview

At the end of the 200-2001 curling season, starting the last week of regular league play, a 13-page survey was handed out for members to fill out. The survey was available at the bar until May. A total of 110 members responded to the survey. Every person did not answer all questions.

This document provides a summary of the responses received. We have omitted the comments made for confidentiality, but the board is considering all responses received when planning the year's activities.

A. Facilities

1. Lounge

This question asked about 4 suggestions for improving the lounge: buy new lounge tables; renovate the bar; paint the walls; and get new sofas.

Chit System

Finally, we queried whether the member smoked or not.

109 members answered the question; 18% do smoke, 80% do not, and 2% chose not to answer.

1. Admittance

When asked whether they got into all the leagues they signed up for, 108 people responded where 93% did get into all the leagues they wanted, 7% did not.

1. Retention

When asked whether they will rejoin the Ottawa Curling Club, 97% said they would. The remaining 3% said they were unsure.
